The misleading and the misled

A false GDP and a false economic growth rate, may be high and impressive to both the misleading and the misled, but it would leave the law-makers and the sufferers without any solution as long as they confine themselves to the world of illusion.
A country's true development cannot be reflected in the existing method of calculating the GDP. The method has been conventional for a long time. It gives an overall picture. The plight of the majority of the population, gets diluted in the process. As such, the economic condition of the lowest and the middle rungs of the social ladder, is put on the back-burner. The immense relief that the soaring GDP gives to the leaders and the privileged, impedes even a genuine government, from throwing a few glances to the grinding poverty, that keeps pulling down the social justice. However, the issues develop wings when the politicians use the same for political stunts. It is fairly used for deceiving the voters.

In countries, where the majority of the citizens are the victims of ignorance, the work of the politicians become easy in luring them with false promises. Once, they are voted to power, the desperate voters are remembered only at the time of the next elections because the voter holds democratic significance.
What makes matters worse, is the fact that many literate citizens, who call themselves the victims of hectic schedule, heed little to the political inconsistencies and the delinquency of the leaders. It is this inability of the voters, that adds to the strength of the several rungs of the political ladder.

The existing conventional GDP has a lion's share of the uppermost rungs of the economic ladder, which forms the smallest section of the society. It is the lowest rungs of the economic ladder, that has the biggest part of the population, and if the GDP of this part of the population, in a nation, is calculated, it would shock the leaders. Further, when the middle rungs are added to the lowest rungs, the declination would be sharper. For a long time, it is the middle rungs too, which have been given little notice.

But, this disappointing truth would bring a stable and sustainable growth. The growth may be slow but it would ensure the true prosperity of a nation.

Moreover, this would enable the upper rungs of the ladder to extend a helping hand to the lowest rungs who are deprived of their bread and butter, and to those who fail in making their both ends meet. It is time the system underwent changes to pave the path to a two-pronged approach, which gives scope for calculating GDP of the higher rungs and lower rungs separately. Subsequently, each year, the GDP of a nation would give the difference between the two points - the low potential and the high potential. In fact, this would not only reduce the gap between the rich and the poor but also ensure the right distribution of the national wealth among all the rungs.

Chinese Military Budget

In 2014, the Chinese government allocated $131.57 billion as Chinese annual military budget.

This is an increase from the 2013 military budget (an increase of 12.2%) With this big leap, China becomes

the second leading nation in the world in huge spending for military budget. The U.S. stands in the first place

in allocation of huge money for the annual military budget.

In 2003, the defense spending of China was estimated to be 38 billion dollars (2.3% of China’s GDP). The

official figure was 22.4 billion dollars.

Chinese military spending doubled between 1997 and 2003, getting close to the defense

spending of the U.K. and Japan. It continued to grow 10% annually during 2003-2005. The Chinese

military
spending for 2009 was US$ 100 billion as per the Report of  SIPRI. In 2012, reports said that the Chinese

military spending could go upto $525.40 by the year 2015, which is larger than all other Asian nations

combined.

China became the third largest exporter of major arms in 2010-14

Indian Defence budget 2015-16

The defence budget of India has grown by eight percent over the previous year’s Defence

budget but the growth rate amounts  to 11% over the revised  allocation for 2014-15. It is obvious that

original budget allocation of 2014-15 has been revised downward to the extent of Rs.6,630 crore. This is

because of the reduction in the capital expenditure by Rs.12,623 crore. On the other hand, the revenue

expenditure has been revised upward by Rs. 5,993 crore.

Putting together the revenue expenditure and the capital expenditure of the Indian

Defence Budget of the past two successive allocations, the total amount under the Budget

Estimate

was Rs. 229000.0 for 2014-15. The total amount allocated under the Revised Estimate for 2014-15

was Rs. 222370.0. The total amount under the Budget Estimate for 2015-16 is Rs. 246727.0.

While the share of Defence Budget in Central Government Expenditure in 2015-16 is 13.9% , the

share for the previous year was 12.8%.

Like in the past, the Army has the lion's share (53% of the defence budget ( Rs. 1,30,874 crore).

The Air Force stands in the second place with an allocation of Rs. 56,658 crore. The occupies the third

place with Rs. 40,529 crore. The D.R.D.O. gets Rs. 14,358 crore. An allocation of Rs. 3644 crore has

been done for the Ordinance Factories.

The Air Force comes a distant second with an allocation of Rs. 56,658 crore, followed by the Navy (Rs.

40,529 crore), Defence Research and Development Organisation (Rs. 14,358 crore) and Ordnance

Factories (Rs. 3,644 crore) (see Figure II).  It is to be noted, however, that the Army is the most

revenue-intensive service. In 2015-16, 80 per cent of its budget has been earmarked for revenue

expenditure. The corresponding figures for the Navy and Air force are 38 and 41 per cent, respectively.

Modi's Make in India and The Indian Defence

Boosting indigenous arms manufacturing, by the private sector, has been one of the aims of

Modi's MAKE IN INDIA. The need for huge investmentin plant and machinery, technology and skill

development has been felt. Simultaneously, the tax and duties structure also has to be made attractive for in-

house manufacturing. Though the budget remains opaque, Modi's words at the Aero India show gives some

hope in this regard.

'Make' projects for which 144.21 crore has been allocated. In this regard, the two industry

consortiums- one of TATA Power SED and L&T and the other of Bharat Electronics Limited(BEL) and

Rolta India Ltd-each of which won a contract from the Ministry of Defence to develop a prototype under the
Indian Army's Battlefield  Management System (BMS) programme.

A step forward towards internal security and peace.

The Supreme court of India asks the Central Government to have a re-look at the provisions of the juvenille

law that prescribes 18 years as the age of adulthood to try persons accused of heinous crime. What deserves
more attention in this regard, is the question of awareness and the minimum required  degree of  maturity one

attains at the age of 18. Is this age not enough for an individual who is not deprived of his sanity, to

discriminate civility and barbarity ?  If the answer is positive, it should be accepted that mere trying the

juvenile or acquitting him of the guilt, is not the only solution. The evil forces playing a havoc on the

vulnerable juveniles, cannot be overlooked. These evil forces perhaps comprise the significant factors.

Firstly, parents are not serious about civilizing or  inculcating morals into the mind of the child. It is just like saying, "My job

is only to give birth and bring him up. This bringing up of the child, is devoid of any morals. It is this very

stress on morals and cautioning about the do's and the don'ts, which can reduce the juvenille cases being filed
with the courts.

What makes matters worse, is that most teachers feel a sense of pride that they have given an unparalleled

contribution in delivering the concepts. But, their teaching is hardly mulled with any morals. Again, it should

be taken care of the fact that mere teaching may not mould the pupils. If the teacher fails to inspire the pupil,

his teaching can be considered ineffective. It is the centre of learning, not the prison, where there is a lot of

scope for moulding the child or to instill civility. Civility is a cultivation of tender treatment but not force. It is

the parents and teachers who have the lion's share in bringing forth civilized people into the society. Again, it

is the parents and the teachers who can, with their carelessness, unleash trained students, who have little to

do with morality. If these trainers, parents and teachers, do the extra-mile journey and instill the essence of

morality, the child might flinch in committing not only a heinous but also hesitate to commit even a small

crime. Hence, rhe root cause of the juvenile crime has to be observed. Then, it would not be the degree of

awareness that would draw our attention but the carelessness that has crept in bringing up of the child. If the

parents and teachers introspect, they can realize their duty. This would an end to this debatable problem.

A good teacher is not the person who teaches but inspires.

School of International Peace

Devoid of the lucrative touch of science and technology and the passion for  business and

commerce, an exclusively selfless school of International peace and harmony, should be established in large

numbers across the globe. This would certainly pool in, fairly a large number of aspirants, whose could get

their mind cleansed of the social filth, and instead get seasoned with the divine and lofty aspirations that

transcend the worldly greed.

Such institutions and training centres would go a long way in producing seasoned individuals, who

would not only give solutions but also get things done.  It is the kind of syllabus and curriculum, and the

vigorous training that would build capability in the individual. The training should include the pupils'

participation in world tours and seminars, which would give the pupil a real-time experience.

Then, the world need not have to find itself in a state of dilemma about whom to choose for

heading the key positions at the international level.

International  Peace is not an occasion to be confined to the International Peace day. Instead, it is meant for breathing every moment of our life.

Making The U.N.O. formidable

There is a need to bring certain changes by carrying out profound discussions, in order to make international guardian formidable to enable it to tackle the potential contemporary challenges with ease.

However, the will and urge on the part of the existing organs of the body of the U.N.O., is needed to safeguard mankind. The world is grateful to the guardian for taking care of the world, and for having successfully completed 70 years, without bringing much changes.

Today, the world has undergone considerably a long and complex journey through scientific technology. This journey has been a blend of man's manouvre to dominate all others in the world and scientific technology has made matters worse.

Tit for tat is not the solution because a wise man knows how to win an argument but a genius knows how to avoid it. Today, we live in a world where the challenges have grown wide, complex and delicate to deal with.  Wisdom and perseverance of such magnitude are needed which have never been thought of. Indeed, tranquility, wisdom and concern for mankind are the means of reaching the zenith of international peace and harmony.

The time has come to bring down the national barriers and unanimously form solutions to address the grievances and crises at the international level. Crucial summits and conferences that comprise the so-called elite nations alone, cannot give  tangible solutions.

Man needs to learn from nature that lack of proportion and imbalance, cannot give balance to any structure.

It is time veterans, intellectuals and men of outstanding qualities were involved, for the smooth running of the international guardian. This has to be done meticulously and with diligence. Political power at the international level is not what is the need of the hour. Scholarly and wise negotiators with leadership qualities and with the commitment and will-power who are capable of addressing the crises at the international level, are needed. Such people should unanimously be appointed to form a wing of the guardian, to give strength to it. It doesn't matter what guards the world and who form the body. What matters is whether we succeed in crushing the evil that tries to raise its hood frequently, in deceptive, conceited and dodging forms. One needs to stand in solidarity with international peace and harmony. This should be made the thing of foremost importance.

                                                                               New challenges need new solutions.

What is society ?

All the dirt and filth lies in the way the generations have been conceiving the meaning and

definition of the society with narrow-mindedness but not with a comprehensive vision. It is this

misconception

that has resulted in unprecedented greed of accumulating more and more wealth. Jealousy and envy are other
evils that have originated out of this misconception. Further, these evils have assumed the form of wars

among nations.

It is time children across the world stopped learning the ugly conception gifted by narrow-

mindedness. They should be guided with the comprehensive meaning that society is not a state or a nation

but the whole world. Unless, the all the people of the world are taken into consideration,

 the definition would remain paralyzed.

When one comes across the word, 'society' , one usually mistakes it for one's nation alone.

Nothing would be a bigger blunder than this because the term, 'society' knows no national barriers. If one

confines the word to one's nation, it would become a fool's definition.

In fact, prosperity or progress of a nation is impossible without the prosperity of the world.

Even if , a nation boasts of its progress with a selfish intention, that progress would be a short-lived one like

the bubble in water. Let your nation progress and help other nations progress. Only then your progress

can be a long lasting one. It is true that such a progress which strives for the good of other nations too, helps

in mutual growth. It becomes a remedy for countless social ills.

Hope the new generations would flush out the filth contained in the posterity handed over to them by the preceding generations in all the nations of the world.

A witty negotiator is better than a crazy warrior

It is easy to reply a nation with a war but it is quite difficult to succeed in avoiding it through

negotiations. The real smartness and beauty lies in being a wise negotiator, not in winning the war. The

modern age also witnesses some nations, relentlessly and greedily, trying for incursions or to dominate the

other peaceful nations.

Man should learn to live in peace while striving for prosperity. Prosperity does not means to

raise one's economic or political power through wars and other deceptive methods. One should keep

checking regularly one's chastity so that no evil idea intrudes the mind and incite one to choose an evil way of

living. Influencing other people with one's evil idea, is also an evil way of living.

To harm the world is the art of ignorance but to do something for the prosperity of the world, is the work of a wise architect.

Defective education

Is technology not dominating morals ?
Is technology more important than the safety of the world ?

            Modern education holds little importance

or no importance for morals. It is more a field-based education

in which the concerned branch of education finds significance.

At the school level, the pupils mind is seasoned with academic syllabus

and learning for the purpose of building a lucrative career.

Thus, the defective aim lays its foundation at the school level itself. Further, the river of this narrow-minded aim, gets  Modern Education

 broadened

as the child's education reaches the higher stages of learning. The higher the level of learning, the

higher the technological and commercial touch is. Finally, the moral touch, which is the essence of human

existence, remains missing.

It has to be understood that all branches of education, finally, aim at enlightenment and doing good

not only to the student who takes up the study but also to enable the student to do good to the society.

It is quite unfortunate that modern education is  lop-sided.. It only propagates the technological

growth and its implications.
Man, in his journey of education, does n't find any time for reasoning.

In fact, he is bothered about how to use the learned skills for earning

huge amounts of money. Doing justice to the theories either scientific or social, is also a matter of concern

for some students.  The out-going batches from most of the schools and colleges, are theoretically

handicapped.  The technologically-oriented students are not serious about human values. As such, modern

education no more defines and incorporates the aspects of enlightenment. Enlightenment is a blend of

learning

the concepts and the application of the same for the good of the society.

Again, what is meant by the phrase, 'for the good of the society' ?

What are the parameters within which the meaning of the phrase is confined to ?

Today, this phrase has lost its authentic beauty. Instead, a new meaning has been attributed to the same.

Non-sense is defended with this phrase. The people, playing a key role in the world, who are entrusted and

vested with crucial responsibilities, use the above discussed phrase as a lame cause for the new applications

and their implementation.

For instance, a politician who strives for the expansion of defence technology by strengthening it

with chemical weapons and nuclear warheads, garners the support of his own people and the outsiders, by

convincing them that it is for the sake of the national security. But, he does n't tell his people about the fact

that every action has an equal and opposite reaction                      .

The fact that draws our attention, in this regard, is that when a nation undertakes a dangerous and

malicious activity, it sends shudders through other nations. Subsequently, the influenced nations too, embark

on the similar modernizing activity,   but with a greater magnitude.

In the business of this tit-for tat, we, the people of the world, lose our sense of reasoning, and throw the world closer to the doomsday.

The Unfortunate Race for Weapons of Mass Destruction

Kings and Generals fought battles in the past to expand their territory. These warriors aspired for endless

territories. This could be possible through wars. But, the wars were not tinged with the technological touch.

The wars, being confined to swords and spears.                                         s.

They, being deprived of gun powder, chemical weapons

and nuclear warheads, were not so disastrous.

But, the scientific inventions and discoveries paved to industrialization. Further, the discovery of the

new sea routes to the world, fueled the existing urge with the greed of imperialism. Before man could realize the disastrous powers concealed within

the scientific inventions and discoveries, the first world war and the

second world war had already caused

                                                                                              destruction beyond imagination.

Though, the fear of devastation sojourned for a while, gradually, the race for

proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, took speed. Despite the consistent efforts, the U.N.O. has

succeeded little in taming the wild enthusiasm of many nations. It is time the nations realized about keeping

the world away from not only the wars but even the dream of waging wars. One needs to realize that wars

give ash, not fruits. Let not the world become a victim of the foolish urge of the few.

Humanity hopes for a world of realization but not a world of powerful lunatics.

Instead of vying for power.........

Instead of vying for political power and domination, the richest and leading economies of the

world should explore the ways of creating an ideal world where all the people of the world live in peace and

harmony. They should strive to make the lives of the people happy. They should

learn to derive pleasure in

removing the narrow feelings of the people like the negative enthusiasm towards nationalism, which fuel the

desire to destroy others.

These nations should stop the business of waging wars and proliferation of nuclear and other

military weapons. Instead, they should strive about how to address the international crises and issues

unresolved - food shortage, starvation, poverty, improving the  mechanism to undertake relief operation

effectively, enhance the research activity to substitute the fossil fuel and fissile fuel with renewable sources of

energy.

New laws should be made to make yoga and meditation, mandatory for political leaders to dvert

their mind towards noble deeds instead of waging wars. Yoga can suppress the evil ideas of jealousy and

envy.                                                           Also, the idea of dictatorship would come down gradually

through yoga and listening to the divine

philosophies concealed within the holy scriptures.

When enthusiasts compete with each other in the race of ignorance...

It is easy to compete than to discriminate between
 the good
race or a bad race. A blind pursuit can
not yield good results. Hence, it is not
 the path alone
that needs to be examined but
 also the target
that one aims at.Image result for pictures of the face for ignorance

Fools rush in where angels fear.to tread.

To err is easy but to opt right is difficult. Political pursuit
should not cost the tranquility of the social peace.
If one does not get a good idea, it is better that
he remains passive as long as his mind invites
a noble one.
Men of vision and tolerance learn
from their foresight, but men of crazy enthusiasm
 take lessons from their failures.
History too, retains a good number of examples in this
regard.

When men of political powers bungled with resources....

Legislative powers aims at doing good to                                                                                      the people, but when the means of achieving the good, becomes defective, it becomes a curse to the people.               Image result for pictures of policy making                                                                        Rethink before you execute a thought into action
because it is easy to bungle rather than to be conspicious.

Unfortunately, there
have been numerous
                                                                                  instances which mirror unwisely decisions.
Perhaps, in most cases, people's consent is                                                                                   not taken into consideration. Unfortunately, in most cases, it is witnessed that                                                                                                enthusiasm has driven the policy-                                                  Image result for pictures of policy making                                              making, not wisdom. Most decisions                                                                                            taken in the past have been hasty.

The seed of ignorance sown, will certainly emerge into a tree that would bear the fruits of disaster which is inevitable. What a beautiful thing it is - that which is well thought of, but it is the blind enthusiasm that surpasses it.

Democracy is the ground created for the people's freedom and development, but it is the political enthusiasm that has its say.
